Indenture 1606: Robert Gunter and John Parrie,
Edward James and Roger Kemys, and John William Parrie

This Indenture tripartite made the fifte day of Januarie in the yere of the reigne of o[ur] sovereigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faithe etc (that is to saye) of England France and Ireland the third and of Scotland the nine and thirtieth [1605/06] Betwene Robert Gunter of Abergavenny within the Countie of Monmoth esquier and John Parrie of Llanvihangell Killkorney within the said Countie of Monmoth gent of the first p[art]ye Edward James late of Lanvetherin within the said Countie of Monmoth gent and Roger Kemys of Wickwicke w[i]thin the Countie of Glouc[ester] gent of the second p[ar]tye and John William Parrie of Lanvetherin w[it]hin the said countie of Monmoth gent of the third p[ar]tye. Whereas by the mutuall consente and assente of all and everie the said p[ar]ties to thes putes for and in consideration of certen valuable and good consideration paid by the said John William Parrie to the said Edward James and Roger Kemys there was one Recoverie heretofore had and suffered in the kinges ma[jest]ies corte of comon pleas at Westminster in the Countie of Middelsexe before the Kinges ma[jest]ies Justices of the said Corte in a writt of entrie sur disseisin en le post wherein the said Robert Gunter and John Parrie were Demandante ageinst the said John William Parry tenant in and by w[hi]ch writt there was demanded one messuage, one barn, one mill, one garden twentie sixe acres of lande, eightene acres of meadowe, twentie twoo acres of pasture and twentie acres of woodde with their appurtenances in llangattocke llingoed within the said countie of Monmoth beinge in deede the late landes tenementes and heridataments of one John James ap Gwatkyn gent deceased, to w[hi]ch writt the said John William Parrie appered and vouched to warrantye the premisses the said Edward James and Roger Kemys who likewise thereupon appered and entered into warrantie and vouched over to warrantie of the premisses one Edward Howes whoe likewise thereupon appered, and entered into warrantie, whereupon a common recoverie was had and suffered of the landes and tenem[en]ts aforesaid w[i]th their appurtenances on the said Corte accordinge to the order of common recoverie in such cases had and suffered as in and by the record purportinge the recoverie aforesaid remayninge in the said corte to w[hi]ch recoverie be made the same more at large appeareth Nowe this Indenture witnesseth that the intent and true meaninge of all and everie the said said all p[ar]ties to this putes, before the said recoverie had and suffered, and at the tyme of the said recoverie had and suffered and alwayes sithens the said recoverie had and suffered in sorte aforesaid was and nowe ys, that the use and intente of the said recoverie sholld forev[er] be guided and diverted in and by this pute Indentures in maner and forme followinge (That is to saye) that the said Robert Gunter and John Parry recoverors in the said recoverie their heires and assignes and the heires and assignes of the survivor of them forever sholld be and continewe forev[er] after the said recoverie had and suffered in sorte aforesaid seised and estated of and in the landes and tenem[en]ts aforesaid with their appurtenances contayned in the said recoverie and of and in every p[ar]te and p[ar]cell thereof to the use and behouf of the said John William Parry his heires and assignes forever and to none otherwise intente or behouffe. In witness whereof to the firste parte of this Indenture tripartite remayninge w[i]th the said John William Parrie the forenamed Robert Gunter, John Parry, Edward James and Roger Kemys have putt their Seales and to the second p[ar]te of the said Indenture remayninge w[i]th the said Edward James and Roger Kemys the said Robert Gunter John Parry and John William Parry have putt their Seales And to the third p[ar]te of the said Indenture remayninge wee the said Robert Gunter and John Parry the forenamed Edward James, Roger Kemys and John William Parry have putt their Seales. Given the daye monthe and yere above written
