Will of John Prichard 1793

In the name of God Amen. This is the last Will and Testament of me John Prichard of the parish of Langattock Lingoed in the County of Monmouth yeoman which I make in manner following, vizt. I give Devise and bequeath All that my Messuage farm lands hereditaments and premisses with their appurt[enance]s and now in my own Tenure, and situated in the said parish of Langattock Lingoed unto my son John Prichard his heirs and assigns forever, but subject to and chargeable with the payment of the sum of Thirty pounds within Twelve Months next after my Decease, and which sum of thirty pounds I give to my Daughter Mary Watkins, I give and bequeath unto my Wife Catherine Prichard the sum of Two hundred pounds and do hereby charge and make chargeable the said sum of Two hundred pounds and the said Catherine Prichard with and for the payment of the sum of Ten pounds apiece which I give to my Grandson and grand Daughter John and Ann Watkins as and when they shall respectively attain their ages of Twenty one Years, All the rest & residue of my Personal Estate and Effects I give to and between my said son John Prichard and my wife Catherine Prichard, whom I nominate and appoint joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth Day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Ninety three. The mark of the testator John Prichard, his mark.

John Prichard the son & one of the ex[ecut]ors in this will named was sworn to the truth thereof & to the faithfull performance of the same & that the Goods Chattles & Credits of the s[ai]d ded do not amount in value to the sum of Three Hundred Pounds, before me, Benj Hall, Surrogate. (Power being first reserved)

This Will was proved at Abergavenny on the sixteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred ninety three before the Revd Benjamin Hall, Clerk, BD, the Chancellor’s Surrogate by John Prichard the natural & lawfull son and one of the executors in the said Will named who was first on the holy Evangelists personally sworn well & faithfully to execute the same, to exhibit an inventory & to render a just account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required (Power being first reserved to Catherine Prichard)
