Will of John Watkins 1779

In the Name of God Amen
I John Watkins of Poolhall in the County of Monmouth Gentleman do make this my last Will and Testamen in manner following (that is to say) I Give and Bequeath unto my mother Elizabeth Watkins the sum of forty pounds Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother Hugh Watkins the sum of one hundred pounds Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Brother William Watkins the sum of five pounds and I will and direct that the above mentioned Legacies be respectively paid within twelve Months next after my decease out of the personal Estate and Effects which I have now in England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my said Mother Elizabeth Watkins the use of all my Plate and Books during her life and after her decease I Give and Bequeath the same Plate and Books unto my Nephew Samuel Watkins (son of my Brother James Watkins) for ever Whereas there now remians due to me in the hands of my Attorney John Forkner and john Firby of Pensacola in the Province of West Florida a considerable sum of Money Now I do hereby give and bequeath the same sum or so much thereof as can be recovered in the manner following (that is to say) fifty pounds part thereof to my Brother Richard Watkins and the residue thereof and also the residue of all other my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever unto my Brothers the said James Watkins Hugh Watkins and Richard Watkins to be equally divided between and among them share and share alike I appoint my Friend Richard Forman of the Tower, London Esq[uie]r and my Brother the said James Watkins Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former and other Wills by me at ant time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine  Jo[h]n Watkins signed sealed published and delivered by the above named John Watkins the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as Witnesses ^thereto^ David Lloyd Baker Gabb.

This Will was proved at London on the 9th March 1780
by James Watkins, brother of the deceased.
