In the name of god Amen the Thirteenth Day of June Anno 1640 I Morris Griffith of Langattoke Clenige in the County of Monmouth and Diocese of Landaff gent beeing sicke in bodie but in perfecte memorie lauds and praise bee to Almightie god doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) first I bequeath my soule to the Almightie god my maker and redeemer in whom I hope to be saved , and my bodie to bee buryed in Christian buriall, Item I give and bequeath to the Cathedrall Church of Landaff ii p[oun]ds Item I give and bequeath towards the reparatone of the p[ar]ish Church of Langattock aforesaide ii s. Whereas the inheritances and revercion of those seaven p[ar]cells of lands arrable pasture and woods with the appurtenances sett lyeinge and beeinge within the parish of Langattok Clenige aforesaid and Countye aforesaid Betweene the Heighway leadinge from the p[ar]ish Church of Langattoke aforesaid towards White Castle, the lands of James Powell gent, the lands of John Powell gent, the brooke called Troddy, the lands of Walter Pye gent, and the lands of Edward Morgan gent on all p[ar]ts and sides thereof after the decease of Thomas Morris Cl[er]k my grandfather w[hi]ch doth belonge to mee and to Rose my wife and to the heires of our two bodies lawfullie begotten and for want of such issue borne and my heires ^for her the revercon remainder those tenements ** with ** seaven p[ar]cells of lands^ with the appurtenances, when it happens to come and fall after the decease of my s[ai]d grandfather, then as aforesaid, I devise give and bequeath unto Rose my wife all the said seaven p[ar]cells of lands w[i]th their appurtenances and to her heirs and assignes for ever Imediatly after my decease and after the decease of my said grandfather and towards the dischardinge of all my debts and legacies, Item my will is also that Rose my wife shall well and truly *** and pay the som[m]e of five pounds of good and lawfull money of England unto Rose Hanburie daughter of John Hanburie and Katherine my sister w[hi]ch said som[m]e of five pounds my will is that my wife Rose shall pay the said som[m]e into the hands of Richard Hanburie to be so sett out to interest untill the said Rose Hanburie doe accomplishe the yeares of twenty and one yeares, and to bee paid off one whole yeare after that the said Rose my wife shall inheritt and quietly enjoy the said seaven p[ar]cells of lands, Item I give and bequeath to Rose my said wife all my goods Chattell and Chattells moveable immoveable round and around togeather w[i]th all my howsehold stuff and Implements of Howsehold stuff unto Rose my wife for and towards the discharginge of my funerall expenses Item I doe nomynate and appointe Rose my wife to bee sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament, and doe appoint Richard Hanburie to bee overseer of this my last Will In witnesse whereof I the said Morris Griffith thus put my [sic] and seale the day and Yeare first above written,

Memorandied before the ensealinge? and delyvery of this my last will and Testament I doe give and bequeath unto Katherine my sister wife of John Hanbury the some of eight pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee paid by Rose my wife w[i]thin the space of one yeare after that shee has the quiet poss[ess]ion of the said seaven p[ar]cells of land above expressed? in the p[re]sence of
