Will of Thomas Evans 1704

In The name of God Amen, the Seventeenth day of July in the Third yeare of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the grace of God of England Anno Dom[in]i one Thousand Seven hundred and four I Thomas Evans of the parish of Llangattock Llyngood in the County of Monmouth vicar Being sick in body, but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to almighty God, Doe, make constitute , ordayne, publish and declare this my last will and Testament in man[n]er and forme following, Revoking and disanulling by these presents all and every Testament and Testaments will & wills heretofore by me made and Declared either by word or Writing: and this to be taken onely for my last Willl and Testament and none other, first I give and comitt my soule unto almighty God my saviour And my body to be buried in such place where it shall please my Executors hereafter named to appoynt And now for settling my temporal Estate, and such Goodes, Chattells and Debts, as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I doe order Give, bequeath and dispose of the same in man[n]er and forme following (That is to say) first I will that all those Debts that I owe be well and truly paid or ordayned to be paid within convenient time after my Decease by my Executors hereafter named.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my beloved wife Blanch Evans the Intrest of Two hundred pounds which are in the hands of William Bleathin of Doonsham Esq. and secured by morgage upon his estate, for and dureing her natrall life onely.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Neece Rachel Jones the sum[m]e of Seavenscore and Tenn pounds out of the said Two Hundred pounds, due from William Bleathin Esq. aforesaid And to be paid my said neece Rachell within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife Blanch.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my nephew Evan Jones the sum[m]e of Tenn pounds If he come home from Sea and doe appoynt my said neece Rachel Jones to pay him, the said Tenne pounds, within one yeare, after her said legacy shalll become due and payable.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Nephew Francis Jones the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after my said Wife's Decease.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Nephew Anthony Jones the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Nephew Thomas Jones the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Neece Elizabeth Jones the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my Neece Mary Jones the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my servant Richard Prichard the sum[m]e of tenn pounds to be paid within one yeare after the Decease of my said Wife.

Item. I give and Bequeath unto my said Loving Wife Blanch the sum[m]e of Twenty pounds to be paid out of my Goodes and Chattells that I have in Llangattock Lyngood, and the said Goodes and Chattells, my said Wife is to have the use of, during her life, and then to come to my neece Rachell according to the value as they shall be apprised at

lastly I doe appoynt my Beloved Wife Blanche Evans, and Rachell Jones my Neece to be my Joynt Executors of this my last will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto Signed Sealed, and Doe hereby publish the same, The Day and yeare above written
