The settlers map of Calhoun Creek is ready to print! Click here to see the List of names of land owners shown on the maps. Note: The cost of printing will vary between $1,600 and $3,200 depending on the number of copies we order. This is the main driver, and along with the cost of mailing tubes, labels and postage, determines the prices below. No profit is included in the costs shown. There will be 2 multi-color maps shipped in mailing tubes - each 21" by 25" - one covering the lower Calhoun Creek and one covering upper Calhoun Creek. Also included are portions of the areas of Long Cane Settlement to the north, south, east and west of Calhoun Creek (LIttle River, Penny Creek, Park's Creek, Norris Creek, Bold Branch, Lee Creek). Many of these plats are identified as "Long Cane Settlement" or Northwest Fork of Long Cane. I recently posted the list of those who would appear on the map, but if you've forgotten, please let me know and I'll repost it. The base map is a modern day map showing roads, towns, houses, and other features. Overlaying this is a map of all the colonial and some of the early statehood property surveys of the early settlers showing name of each settler, their property boundaries, the acreage and the date surveyed. With this map, you can visit Abbeville/McCormick County and visit the land of your ancestors. Publication is anticipated in September 2001. If 25 purchase, the price will be $75. If 50 purchase, the price will be $60. If 100 purchase, the price will be $45. Please send this notice out to as many peole you can think of that might be interested. The more orders, the lower the cost to everyone. Please "clip" the order form below and send it to: [email protected]. Do not send to the Abbeville or Long Cane listserves! To download the form, right click in the middle of the form and save it to your hard drive.
