Mrs. Olene Gryder parks, 82, of 812 Kerley Court, died Sunday at her home. She was born Dec. 13, 1915, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late J. Columbus Gryder and Callie Tucker Gryder. She attended Statesville city schools and was married to Trent Parks, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Parks was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church and was a retired bookkeeper with I-CARE. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Grier Gryder and Oscar Gryder. She is survived by one sister, Eloise Gryder Spinkle of Greensboro; two nephews, Don Sprinkle of Greensboro and Jeff Sprinkle of Raleigh; two nieces, Janis Flanders of Marietta, Ga., and Linda Gryder Clark of Florida. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at Nicholson Funeral Home.

Eloise Gryder Sprinkle, 82, of Dulaire Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Clapp's Nursing Center. Mrs. Sprinkle's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Lindley Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Eloise Sprinkle was born Jan. 19, 1923, to the late Columbus and Callie Tucker Gryder. She lived her early years and attended school in Statesville, moving to Greensboro in 1951. She was a faithful member of Lindley Park Baptist Church where she was a soloist, and a member of the choir and various other singing groups. Mrs. Sprinkle was a Data Controller for the Greensboro City Schools for over 20 years. Survivors include three children, Janis Flanders and husband, Edgar, of Wilmington, Jeffrey Sprinkle of Greensboro, and Donald Sprinkle and wife, Mella, of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Bethany Leigh Sprinkle, Mark Jeffrey Sprinkle, and D. J. Sprinkle; and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Sprinkle and Ashley Sprinkle. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Forbis and Dick, North Elm Street, in Greensboro.
