Tula Williams - 1900 Sharpe, Alexander, North Carolina. Living with her parents, Joseph and Sarah. Apparently she married again. Second time to W. H. Hasten. Found several newspaper articles where she was visiting her sister, Cora Mays Mitchell. And at least one more daughter, Eula Faye Hasten. Lula was living Baker, Crawford Co, Kansas in 1910 with son Ray Williams and husband W. H. Hasten.

We know that Ray was in Kansas in 1917 because of his draft registration. He was also living at Brooking, Jackson Co, Missouri in 1920. He is listed as inmate -Nurse at a Tuberculosis hospital.
3. James A Mays born Aug 1870 and died 19 Feb 1948, Kansas. Married Nora Elizabeth Adalina Lackey about 1896. Elizabeth died 14 August 1900, Hiddenite, NC.

Friends here were sorry to learn the death of Mr. James Mays. Death occured at his home in Pittsburgh, Kansas last Thursday. Mr. Mays, 78 years of age was born and reared in the Rocky Spring Church community. A son of the Joseph C. and Sara McLain Mays. Surviving relatives here, a son, Mr. Lynn Mays and a sister, Mrs. C. L. Mitchell both of the Taylorsville.

Elma/Alma Etta and John have been very confusing. In 1910 living Pittsburg Ward 2, Crawford, Kansas. John is listed as Barnes, Elma is listed as Banos, children are listed as Kith Banos and Ariel Banos and there is a Laura Mays listed as Mother-in-law. Elma's mother was Sallie/Sarah. It could have been Sallie but why was she listed as Laura?
