Susie Jordan was the daughter of Increase Crosby and Susan Losey Jordan, of Wallkill, Orange Co., NY. Her grandfather, John Jordan, was a prominent citizen of Orange County. Her paternal great-grandfather, Dr. Increase Crosby, was the second practicing physician in Orange County.. Her grandmother, Hannah Abbot Norris, was a native of Fairfield county, Connecticut and was descended from old New England families.
Her great-great-grandfather, Matthew Northrop, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.
