Dear madam and friend.
I will enclosed you a few facts of history as find them recorded in the County Clerks office of lee county Texas.
License issued to Mr.Frank Legler,To marry Miss Louise Judejohn, the 21s, day of April 1892,Marriage performed by J.N.Story,the 21st day of April A.D. 1892,the same day.Licensed returned the 20nd, day of May 1892,and signed by J.N.Story Justice of Peace Pre. NO. 4 of Lee County Texas. And recorded by A.BGreen County Clerk of Lee CO. texas. All so the license were issued by A.B.Green County Clerk of said county, (Recorded in book No. D on page NO. 58 of marriage reccords of Lee County, Texas. The marriage ceremony perfomed at about 8oclock at night at the house of Mr.William Barnhill, 4 miles East of the town of Lexington Texas. Mr.Barnhill is now dead,I do not know weher not Mrs.Barnhill is a live or not,some of their children were present but have forgotten their names,the last time I heard from any of them they were near the town of Navasota,Mr.John Brantly, was preasent also and was the man that went to Giddings To
get the license for the marriage and it was he that stold Your mother from her mother and step father,Mr. Bartel (pronounce Bartle) I forget their first names, Your grandmother Bartel first husband was Name Schroeder,Then she married Your Grand father Judejohn or Gudejon I neve did know how the name was actually spelled.Your grand mother had several children by Mr.Schroeder. I am personaly aquainted her oldest son Fritz Schroeder and his family, then there is two othe sons I foget their names, they had a sister,she married a man by the name of Herman Kersch,who worked in the Texas and New Orleans R.R.Shops at Houston Texas.
I met your grand father Judejohn or Gudejon,I do not know which is the right way to spell the name,you write to your uncle Charlie ,and ask him how to spell the name. your grand father Judejohn was a fine looking old gentleman when I met him,in Houston some years ago he cared me riding and showed me, over Houston and made me a quainted with Mr.Bartels first wife, who was a fine woman and said to be wealthy,I latter saw notice of her death in the Houston Post,Your aunt Mrs.H.Kersch,did live 4 miles out from Houston on Montgomery street and road to the town of Montgomery and your grand mother Bartel lived just a cross the street from her,Both familys were doing well when I last visited their home,you should find out if your grand mother is living,if not you,
locate some property there.
As soon as I can get the dates will write you a litle history of your mother and fathers marriage it was about one year before you was born,because I know with in a month of your birth.
hoping this will give you a little insight to your life and your people before you, I will try and find out Mrs. Bartels first name if so will write at once.
