Looking for brothers/sisters of William Logan Lunsford so I can document
Lunsford roots.

Seaching for my Lunsford roots. I have documented back to my gggg grandfather
Peter Lunsford b abt 1782 in VA and died 1852 in Putnam Co, IN. Married Sarah
O'Neal in KY in 1810. I am descended from their son Alfred Lunsford. Looking to
find the parents of Peter Lunsford. Believe he was the son of one of the four
Lunsford Brothers (Anthony, Mason, Moses or George) who were wiht Geroge Rogers
Clark in the Northwest Territories during Revolutionary War. Also looking to
indentify the relationship between Peter Lunsford and William Lunsford (b 1780
in VA and died circa 1852 in Oldham Co, KY). There is a link between my gg
grandfather William Monroe Lunsford and this William's son Peter Lunsford. If I
can establish their relationship, it would give me a good number of clues to my
Peter Lunsford's father. Thanks for any help. Ernie

It is so interesting to find your website, particularly since I moved from
Forrest City AR to Alexandria VA about six years ago.
I am researching LEVI SMITH, born ca 1778 in NC. He was first married to
ANNIS/ANNIE KENNEDY of Moore Co NC. It appears from census records that they
migrated to GA and then to Lawrence Co MS by 1820. (I think he served in the
War of 1812 from MS. I have ordered his records from the National Archives.)
Looking at the 1850 and 1860 Lauderdale Co TN censuses, it appears that he
remarried.
Assuming that my Levi Smith (NC, GA, MS) is the same as the Lauderdale Co TN
Levi, I know at least two of his children, ESTHER SMITH married MARTIN FLINN,
and BAILEY SMITH married a JACKSON, both in Lawrence Co MS.
I believe my Levi did move to TN, since other younger Smiths in Lauderdale Co
TN have the same first names as some older Smiths in Lawrence Co Ms, ISAAC,
ISHAM, and EVERETT.
I would appreciate so much any information you can share about this famil

In reply to Vickie Petefish looking for an obituary or article on the death of
Jimmy Lindsey. Is this the same Jimmy Lindsey who is buried at Gibson Bayou? If
so, I would like to have his birth and death dates to add to the Gibson Bayou
transcriptions.
As far as an article, you might try the Evening Times office at West Memphis.
They have microfilm records of the newspapers from this period. The Memphis and
Shelby County Library, located on Poplar in Memphis, would have microfilm
records from the Commercial Appeal and Memphis Press Scimitar. Also, the Cross
County Library in Wynne has copies of the Evening Times for that time period.
Good luck in your search, Debbie Yates
