Benjamin married Helen CROW, daughter of James CROW and Unknown, before 1840. (Helen CROW was born about 1829 in North Carolina and died about 1 Jul 1871 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.)

Their children were:

   2 F    i. Frances Hester LUNSFORD was born about 1845 and died before 24 Apr 1877 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

William Lunsford was appointed as Administrator for the estate of Hester Lunsford in Lauderdale County, Tennessee

+ 3 M    ii. Cullen Henry LUNSFORD was born about 1847 in Tennessee.

   4 M    iii. William LUNSFORD was born about 1850 and died before 1860.

   5 M    iv. James LUNSFORD was born about 1853.

On the 1880 census of Lauderdale County, a James Lunsford (brother-in-law) is living in the household with his sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, James Meacham. The age of this child is given as 9. 

A marriage record exists in Dyer County, Tennessee for J. A. Lun[t]sford to P. A. Crow, dated December, 24, 1875, with no return. It is not known if this is the same James Lunsford.  By 1878, James Lunsford was not listed as one of the minor children for William Lunsford, guardian for the children of B. S. Lunsford.

+ 6 F    v. Sarah E. LUNSFORD was born about 1856 and died on 11 Apr 1881 in Ripley, Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

+ 7 F    vi. Mary Ann LUNSFORD was born about 1859 in Most Likely Haywood County, Tennessee and died before 1903 in Craighead County, Arkansas.

   8 M    vii. Duncan Elzey LUNSFORD was born about 1861 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

On the 1880 census of Lauderdale County, Duncan is living in the household with his sister, Sarah, and brother-in-law, James Meacham, along with his two  brothers, Stephen and James.

   9 M    viii. David LUNSFORD was born about 1863 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

+ 10 M    ix. Benjamin Stephen LUNSFORD Jr. was born on 8 Feb 1865 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, died on 24 Oct 1907 in Craighead County, Arkansas and was buried in 1907 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Craighead County, Arkansas.

   11 M    x. Josiah Marley LUNSFORD was born about 1868 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.
