Registered March the 7th 1842
This
Indenture Made and entered into this 9th day of March 1842 Between
John Ledbetter of the County of Madison and State of Tennessee of the one part
and Drury Price of the County of Gibson and State aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the Said John
Ledbetter for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars to him in
hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted
bargained sold alienated conveyed and confirmed unto the said Drewry Price his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract
or parcel fo land situate lying and being in the County
of Gibson and State aforesaid in the 9th district 1st
Range and 11th Section containing Ninety acres more or less and
bounded as follows to wit;
Beginning at a stake Hickory and Hackberry
pointers the North West corner of the tract the said Ledbetter purchased of Wallingsford thence South ninety six poles to a stake Post
Oak pointers thence East one hundred and seventy nine poles to a Post Oak Post
Oak pointers thence North 28 degrees West thirty one poles thence North 35
degrees West twenty two poles thence North 38 degrees West thirty Eight poles
thence North twenty six poles to a stake thence West one hundred and twenty
four poles to the Beginning ---
To
have and to hold the aforesaid land and
bargained premises with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof
of him the said Drury Price his heirs and assigns forever and the said John
Ledbetter doth covenant and agree for himself his heirs Executors
Administrators to Warrant and forever defend the right of said Land against the
right title claim or interest of any and every other person whatever.
In
testimony whereof the said John Ledbetter hath hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal the day and date first above written.

appeared before me Allen C. Nimmo Clerk of Gibson
County Court John G. Atchison and Surgent Atchison subscribing
witnesses to the within named Deed who being first sworn depose and say that
they are acquainted with John Ledbetter the within named Bargainor
and who acknowledged that he executed the within Deed upon the day it bears
date.
