This
Indenture made this Sixteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord One Thousand
Eight hundred and thirty Eight between Isaac Wallingsford
of the
Witnesseth that the said Isaac Wallingsford
for and in consideration the sum of Three hundred sixty Dollars to him in hand
paid by the said John Ledbetter --- the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold
aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said Ledbetter his heirs and assigns
forever a certain tract or of parcel of land situate lying and being in the County
of Gibson and State of Tennessee in the 9th District 14th Range and
11 Section containing Ninety Acres more or less and bounded as follows (to
wit);
Beginning
at a stake Hickory and Black Oak pointers the North West corner of tract where
on the said Wallingsford now lives running thence
South ninety six poles to a stake Post Oak pointers thence East one hundred and
seventy nine poles to a Post Oak [Post Oak] pointers thence North 28 degrees
West thirty one poles thence North 35 degrees West twenty two poles thence
North 28 degrees West thirty Eight poles – thence North twenty six poles to a
stake thence West one hundred and twenty four poles to the Beginning ---
To
have and to hold the aforesaid land and
bargained premises with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof
of him the said Ledbetter his heirs and assigns forever and the said Isaac Wallingsford doth covenant and agree for himself his heirs
Executors and Administrators to Warrant and forever defend the right of said
Land against the right title claim or interest of any and every other persons
whatever.
In
testimony whereof the said Isaac Wallingsford hath hereunto
set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written.

appeared before me Allen C. Nimmo Clerk of Gibson
County Court John B. Wallingsford & William R.
Pruett subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Deed who being first sworn depose
and say that they are acquainted with Isaac Wallingsford
the Bargainor and that he acknowledged the same in
their presence to be his act and Deed upon the day it bears date.
