This Indenture made this 12th day of May
in the year of our Lord 1808. Between Paton Lunsford of
the County of Anson & State of North Carolina of the one part, and Leven Watson of the County and State aforesaid of the other
part. Witnesseth
that the said Paton Lunsford for and in consideration of
the sum of five hundred one hundred silver dollars to him in hand paid by the
said Leven Watson, the Receipt where of the said Paton Lunsford doth hereby acknowledge hath
given granted bargained and sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents
doth give grant bargain & sell alien and confirm unto the said Leven Watson his heirs & assigns forever all that tract
or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Anson and in State
aforesaid, Beginning at John Tyson’s corner Stake among seven black jacks, on
the west side of the Waggon Road and runs with
Tyson’s line So 58 E, 25 chains & 50 links to a gum. Then No. 15 E 43 chns
73 links with Watson’s line, to his corner Stake among three post oaks then No,
83 E 10 chains & 60 links to Ezekiel McLendon’s
corner turkey oak then So. 81 wst 62 ch. & 50 links to a stake crossing the
Sealed and delivered in the presence of: Paton Lunsford {Seal}
