Know
all men by these presents that I, J. J. Tatem of
Friendship Tennessee for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred
dollars in cash paid the receipt of which is acknowledged have this day
bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to R. A. & W. B.
Lunsford of Friendship Tennessee there [their] heirs and assigns forever a
certain tract or parcel of land situated and being in the town of Friendship
Civil District No 12 Crockett County Tennessee butted and bounded as follows to
wit;
Beginning at a stake
originally W. H. Craig’s S W corner runs thence South 12 Poles & 21 links
to a stake thence East 24 Poles and 21 links to a stake thence North 12 Poles
and 21 links to a
stake thence West 24 Poles and 21 links to the beginning containing by
estimation 2 acres more or less and is the land formerly owned by R. L. Beaver
and conveyed by him to David Beel and from Beel to Tatem.
To have and to hold the
same to them the said R. A. and W. B. Lunsford there [their] heirs and assigns
forever, I covenant that I am lawfully seized and possessed of said land the
same is unencumbered and will warrant and forever defend the title to the same
against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever and I, Mrs. Lee Tatem, Wife of the said J. J. Tatem
join in this conveyance for the purpose of relinquishing all rights of
homestead & dower or any other claims I might have in and to said land.

Personally appeared before me B. H. Harrison a Notary Public for
said County, J. J. Tatem, the bargainor to the fourgoing deed of Conveyance with whom I am personally
acquainted and who acknowledged the execution of the fourgoing
instrument for the purpose therein contained.
And Mrs. Lee Tatem, Wife of the said J. J. Tatem having also appeared before me privately and apart
from her said Husband and acknowledged the execution of the fourgoing
instrument to have been done by her freely voluntarily and understandingly
without compulsion or constraint whatever from her said husband and that for the
purposes therein expressed.
I
certify that the fourgoing deed with certificate of
acknowledgement was this day filed in my office for Registration at 9 O Clock
A. M. and noted in Minute Book No 2 Page 288 & 89.
