Lot No. 298 in Holly Springs

Conveyed by William F. Maron and wife

 

            This Indenture made the Fourth day of August A. D. 1853, between William F. Maron and Matilda C. Maron, his wife of the county of Marshall and State of Mississippi of the first part, and Ransom H. Byrn of the County of Tunica and State of Mississippi of the second part, witnesseth;

that the said party of the first part in consideration of ten thousand dollars to them duly paid before the delivery hereof, have bargained and sold, and by these presents, doth grant, bargain sell and convey to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county of Marshall and State of Mississippi, and known designated and described as follows to wit;

            Being part of Lot No. 298, as laid off in the plan of the town of Holly Springs, beginning 30 feet south of the North east corner of the Stable formerly occupied by T. W. Harris Jr. thence South to the South boundary line of Lot No. 298, thence East 455 feet to Centro Street, thence north to the beginning with the appurtenances and all the estate, title and interest of the said parties of the first part. And the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant and agree with the said party of the second part that at the time of the delivery, hereof, the said party of the first part was the lawful owner of the premises above granted and seized thereof in fee simple absolute and that he will warrant and defend the title to the same to said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever, against the claim of all persons lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. And Matilda C. Maron wife of the said W. F. Maron in consideration of one dollar to her paid, doth herby release and relinquish to Ransom H. Byrn, his heirs and assigns, all her right and title of dower in and to the above mentioned premises.
