Allison Lunsford

Mr. Allison R. Lunsford, a resident of Harrisburg and former longtime resident of Earle, died Friday, January 31, 2003 at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro where he was taken earlier in the day.  He was 82 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2003 at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Rev. Mike Anderson and Rev. Don Pettit officiating. 

 

Interment was in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas.

 

Mr. Lunsford was born March 31, 1920 in Ripley, Tennessee, the son of Verser R. and Gladys D. Ferguson Lunsford.  He moved with his parents at an early age to Earle, Arkansas where he lived for most all his life.  Mr. Lunsford was a self-employed farmer and carpenter for many years before retiring in 1995. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army.  Mr. Lunsford was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Earle.  He had resided at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg for the past three years.  Mr. Lunsford enjoyed farming and was talented and skilled in woodworking.

 

He is survived by two sons: Danny Lunsford of Earle and Johnny Lunsford of Harrisburg; three daughters: Mary Garrison of Randolph, Miss., Debbie Lunsford Yates of Cherry Valley and Judi Lunsford of Jonesboro; two step-son: Tommie Hall of Spokane, Wash. And Cleve Lamb of Ceres, Calif.; one step-daughter, Carolyn Keeley of Mineral Wells, Texas; 15 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren.

 

Mr. Lunsford was preceded in death by his parents; by a son, Jimmy

Allison Lunsford; and by a brother and a sister.

 

Active casketbearers were Rodney Garrison, Roger Garrison, Ryan Garrison, Scott Greenhaw, Daniel Lunsford and Rodney Meadows.  Rick Garrison served as an honorary casketbearer.

 

The family requests that memorials be made to the Gibson Bayou Cemetery c/o Union Planters Bank in Earle, Arkansas.

 

Thompson-Wilson Funeral Directors of Wynne and McCrory were in charge of arrangements.

Lunsford

HARRISBURG -- Allison R. Lunsford, 82, of Harrisburg, formerly of Earle, died Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Lunsford of Earle and Johnny Lunsford of Harrisburg; two stepsons, Tommie Hall of Spokane, Wash., and Cleve Lamb of Ceress Calif.; three daughters, Mary Garrison of Randolph, Miss., Debbie Lunsford Yates of Cherry Valley and Judi Lunsford of Jonesboro; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Keeley of Mineral Wells, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verser Rufus and Gladys Demetrice Ferguson Lunsford, and one son, Jimmy Allison Lunsford.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne, with the Rev. Mike Anderson and the Rev. Don Pettit officiating. Burial will follow in Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery at Marion.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Gibson Bayou Cemetery in care of Union Planters Bank in Earle.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with burial in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

Mr. Lunsford, 82, a retired farmer and carpenter, was a member of Earle First Assembly of God Church and a World War II Army veteran. He leaves three daughters, Mary Garrison of Randolph, Miss., Debbie Lunsford Yates of Cherry Valley and Judi Lunsford of Jonesboro; two sons, Danny Lunsford of Earle, and Johnny Lunsford of Harrisburg; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Kelley of Mineral Wells, Texas; two stepsons, Tommie Hall of Spokane, Wash., and Cleve Lamb of Ceres, Calif., 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
