Katherine Morelock Yates, 84, of Wynne died Sunday April 14, at the Cross Ridge Community Hospital.  Born in Ripley, Tenn., she was a homemaker and a member of the Smith Center Assembly of God Church near Tilton.  She attended school in Ripley before moving to Arkansas, where she lived in Tilton and Vanndale most of her adult life.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne Yates of Cherry Valley, Billy Yates of Wynne and Thomas Yates of Augusta; four daughters, Bea McCorkle of Vanndale, Katherine Bolden of Harrisburg, Roxie McCorkle of Hickory Ridge and Nellie Hueitt of Cherry Valley; two brothers, Dale Morelock of Hickory Ridge and Larry Morelock of Tyronza; 24 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Yates, and her parents, William Coleman Morelock and Lucy Crenn Mealer Morelock.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Smith Center Assembly of God church near Tilton, with the Rev. Roger Smith and the Rev. Rodney Eldridge officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery near Wynne under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne.

Pallbearers will be Ellis McCorkle, Greg Robertson, Mitchell Scott, Steven Scott, John Yates and Stacy Yates.
