Earl worked as a lather. He joined the lathers union May 18, 1937. He belonged to Local #74. He retired from the union February 1, 1968. Earl fought in World War ll. He entered active service in the army on December 15, 1943. He fought in
batles in Rhineland and Central Europe. He receive the Victory Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, and many ribbons. He was wounded in Germany on March 27, 1945.
He received an honoarble discharge from the army and departed from it on December 19, 1945. Earl's S.S.N. 345-07-5936. He lived at 2249 Menard, Chicago, Illinois when he passed away.

There was a period of time when Earl believed his son Robert to actually be the son of his brother Edward (Uncle Bill) because Robert was conceived and born while he was in the army during WW II. He later came to realize Robert was his son,
conceived while he was on leave.

Earl was an alcoholic as were many of his ancestors. he died when I was very young and the onlymemory I really have of him was him giving me beer in little paper dixie cups when we went to visit him and my grandmother.
