To all whom it may concern: Know ye that Robert Parrish a private of Cap[t. S.
D. Nichols Company "C", 4th Iowa Regiment of Infantry, (organized by Thomas
Seely, son-in-law of Isaac and Rachel Haines Parrish) was enrolled on the 8th
day of Aug 1851 to serve 3 years, is hereby discharged from the service of the
US this 21 day of Feb 1863. At Camp New Vicksbury by reason of Surgeons Cert.
of Disability. Said Robert Parrish was born in Noble co., in the state of
Ohio, is 23 years of age, 5 ft 9 in high, dark complexion, hazel eyes, brown
hair and by occupation when enrolled a farmer. Given at camp near Vicksburg
this 21 day of Feb., 1863." George Burton, Lt. Col. Comdg. Regt. Recorded, 7
oct 1891. One record shows he died at Grand Junction, Illinois, while on the

ages 52, 61, and 85. Then died suddenly at age 91/2. She had no apparent
heart problems except those incident at old age. Thomas having never been sick
a day in his life never took any medicine of any kind, died about a month after
he was strecken at past 88 years of age. Elizabeth, or "Bet" died at age 78
from a stroke of apoplexy while the Dr. was taking her pulse; he had been
