(2) 1775, Sep: William POAGE, his wife and 5 children followed Lt. Daniel BOONE to Boonesbo ro, KY, the 5th or 6th family of KY pioneers. (1) 1775, Fall: Came to KY.
(2) He was a woodenware maker in the new settlement and made buckets, milk pails, the woode n framework of ploughs, etc. He made the first loom in KY for his wife.
(2) 1776, Feb: He established his home at Cave or Cove Spring, later called Gore's Spring , 2 miles NE of Fort Harrodsburg.
(2) 1778, 1 Sep: He and a company of 16 men were attacked by Indians at Danford, some 10 mi les from present Danville. He was wounded with 3 bullets and carried horseback to his home a t Fort Harrodsburg.
