There is an Ida M. Shock in the Mercer County birth Book # _1_ ,page 296,
record # 567,
born October 19, 1879 , father born in Ohio, Mother born in Mercer County, Ida.
M. born in Blackcreek Twp. Mercer Co., Ohio , Parents names S. Shock and
McDonald. I believe this fits this Mildred, so probably her legal name was Ida
Mildred Shock. Possibly since she had a sibling named Ado, the parents called her Mildred. Yes, this is her.

In Mildred's mother's obituary it doesn't list a daughter as surviving, so I think
Mildred must have died before July 10, 1920. I'll ask Edna. Yes, she died in 1914.

Buried at Riverside Cemetery, Mercer County, Ohio next to husband and his second wife. Spitler: Mildred w/o P. D. 1879-1914

Ida Mildred Shock Spitler, only daughter of Solomon and Eliza Shock, was born October 19, 1879, and departed this life September 16, 1914, aged 34 years,10 months, and 27 days. She was united in marriage with Pearl D. Spitler on December 31, 1903. To this union were born three sons: Ralph, Loree, and Paul. She was converted at the age of 12 years and united with the United Brethren church of which she remained a faithful member until death called her home. She was a graduate of the Celina High School, graduated with the class of 1901: then taught for a time. She was a great worker in the Church, in the temperance cause and the Sunday School; and at the time of her death was a teacher of the "Mother's Class," in Fairview Sunday School. Mildred or Millie as we called her, was a truly radiant Christian, always diffusing sunshine. We shall miss her bright smiles and kind words, but God knows best and we bow in submission to His will. Knowing that all things work together for the good to them that love the Lord. She leaves to mourn, her husband, three little boys, father, mother, three brothers, and a host of other friends. But they mourn not without hope for:
"THERE IS A WORLD ABOVE
WHERE PARTING IS UNKNOWN.
A WHOLE ETERNITY OF LOVE,
FORMED FOR THE GOOD ALONE;
AND FAITH BEHOLDS THE DYING HERE
TRANSPLANTED TO THAT HAPPIER SPHERE."

The funeral was held from the home Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. L. W. Ryan of Sidney, Ohio. The burial was made in Riverside Cemetery iin Rockford.
