James was administrator of his father's estate in 1720, sold last of Maryland land in 1741, was in Frederick CO, Va before 1751, constable in 1754 on the Roanoke in Bedford CO, VA in 1754.
James lived on the tract of land called "Cuba". On Dec 1720 James was mentioned as the eldest son of the grantor of land on Nanticoke and Bridge Branch. The old records of Dorchester County show that James Bound and wife Ann sold to John Rider, of the same county, the land called "Cuba" in 1716, He sold to John Bounds of Dorchester (his brother) "Long Square" or Bounds" Square" on the northeast fork of the Nanticoke. In 1723 he was constable for Nanticoke 100. On 1 Feb. 1725 he sold his fathers land "Runcell" and "Yearsland" to Joseph McClester and gave him a bond to "keep hin in quiet and peaceful posession" from a certain Rebecca, formerly the widow of John Bounds, now the wife of Charles Hopkins from any claim of right of dower or thirds. On 6 Oct 1742, he sold land he had patented in 1737 in Dorchester County of 50 acres, "Bounds Lott", described as being about one mile from the wading place of the head of the Nanticoke river near unto Samuel Griffiths land.
James married Ann Dicks and after disposing of all his lands, moved to Bedford County, VA. and finally to Anson County, NC. Records of him show him swapping land with his son-in-law John Cole and his sons James and John. He died after 1770 Parents: John Bounds JR. and REBECCA.
