OBITUARY:
Gertha Mae Ratliff, 74, 6302 Hamilton-Middletown Road, died Friday evening, July 17, 1998, at the Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born January 5, 1924, in Campton, KY., the daughter of Fred Wiremand and Myrtle (King) Wireman.
She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Garrett Combs, in 1973, and the Rev. Kelly Ratliff, in April 1998; a daughter, Vickie Harsh; a sister Edna Horton; and her brother, Virgil Wireman.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sharon Combs, of Preble County; two grandchildren, Larry Combs and Jon Harsh; a great-grandson, Noah Harsh; a step-son, James Ratliff of Tennessee; two step-daughters, Reva Owens of Middletown, and Dorothy Barker of Monroe; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddchild; six sisters, Violet Bailey, Maxine Whitt, Vernie Roberts, Bertie Hollon, Betty Faye Banks and Jo Ann Spencer; and three brothers, Oriville Wireman, Ova Wireman and John Wireman.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fellowship Baptist Church on Seneca Street with the Rev. James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Lefler Funeral Home, 517 S. Sutphin St. Burial will be in the Butler County Memorial Park. Violet Bailey, 80, of Middletown, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999, at her residence.
She was born May 23, 1919, in Campton, KY. She was a member of Quillen Chapel Church of God in Campton and an avid quilter and gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Myrtle (King) Wireman; a brother, Virgal Wireman; and sisters, Edna Hollon and Bertha Mae Ratliff.
Survivors include sons, Wilson (Blanche) Bailey of Middletown, and Nelson (Susan) Bailey of Trenton; daughters, Jean (Paul) Lacy of Monroe and Linda (Gary) Wells of Middletown; eight grandchildren, Chris (Mary Margaret) Bailey; Tim (Tammy) Bailey, Jeff (Mary) Lacy, Lori Bailey, Todd (Tonya) Mullins, Anna (Matthew) Ambruster, Courtney (Theresa) Lacy and Kristina (Shawn) Robbins: eight great-grandchildren; three brothersk, Orvial Wireman, Fred John Wireman and Ova Wireman; five sisters, Maxie Whitt, Vernie Roberts, Betty Fae Banks, Bertie Joyce Hollon and JoAnn Spencer; special cousin, Goldie Spencer; and close friends, Ova and Karen Conley.

A former Middletown man, Virgil E. Wireman, 64, of Lexington, KY, died Sunday at the Verterans Admiknistration Hospital in Lexington after a lengthy illness.
He had worked here for the Black Clawson Co.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby of Lexington, John of Bourbon County, KY, and James O. of Breathitt County, KY; four daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Young, Mrs. Patricia Lovett, Mrs. SHirley Austin and Mrs. Wilma Jeari Johnson, all of Lexington; three brothers, Orville of Stanton, KY, John of Campton, KY, and Ova of Middletown; seven sisters, Mrs. Violet Bailey, Mrs. Maxie Whitt, Mrs. Bertha May Ratliff and Mrs. Betty Faye Banks, all of Middletown, Mrs. Mertie Joyce Hollon of Trenton, and Mrs. Vernie Roberts and Mrs. Jo Ann Spencer, both of Campton; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Hollon.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shackelford Funeral Home in Campton. Burial will be in the Hollon-Wireman Cemetery, Quillins Chapel, in Wolfe County, KY.

OBITUARY:
Rolland C. Wirt, 60, a retired grocer, died Friday, July 24, 1964, in Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Death was due to a heart attack following 10 years of failing health. Mr. Wirt was born February 29, 1904, in North Baltimore to Mr. and Mrs. William Wirt. On December 25, 1925, he married Clarice Shock. She survives. Mr. Wirt founded Wirt's Super market in April of 1928. He retired last February after selling to Rick Scheck. He was a member of North Baltimore E.U.B. Church for 40 years and the Chamber of Commerce. Also surviving are his mother; a son, Edward L.; a brother, Harry; and 2 grandchildren, all of North Baltimore. The funeral was monday in the E.U.B. Church. Rev. Alvin Myrice and Rev. Duane Johnson, officiated. Burial was made in Maplewood Cemetery. Rippeth Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
