FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. BLACK
Services Held At White Methodist Church
At Mulberry Canyon
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the White Methodistchurch in Mulberry Can yon for Mrs. M.E. Black, 85, who died Wednesday inHatch, New Mexico.
Mrs. Black lived in Texas 83 years, and had been in Nolan Countysince 1883, settling nea r Mulberry Canyon. She had lived near Petersburgin her last years.
Her rites were said by the Rev. Mr. Holland, Lubbock, with pallbearers from the Masoni c Lodge of Petersburg.
SURVIVING RELATIVES
Survivors include two sons, W.H. Black, Kenton, Okla., and TomBlack, San Angelo, one dau ghter, Mrs. Nannie Morrison, Hatch, New Mex.The latter was unable to attend the funeral on ac count of illness. Thereare
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who survive.
J.C. Boyd of Petersbury, a nephew, was reared by Mrs. Black. Shehelped rear and educat e three families of orphan children. She was theonly sister of the late W.H. Boyd who died h ere last May. She was amember of the Methodist church ans her family was prominent in thedev elopment of the county.
Friends attended her funeral from Petersburg, Lubbock, Abernathy,and New Mexico points.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of interment.

Mrs. Black was well known here where she spent the winters in thehome of her brother, th e late W.H. Boyd.
Miss Iona Boyd, teacher in the school near San Angelo, attendedfuneral rites for her aun t, also.
Wayne Boyd accompanied Tom Black from San Angelo to attend servicesfor his mother.
