Hulda Catherine Dietrich, 76, of Rte 3, rockford, Ohio, died at 9:30 am. Sunday, December 11, 1983 in her residence. She was born March 3, 1907, in Mercer County, Ohio, a daughter of Willet and Martha Kettenring) Carr. On December 18, 1929, she married Joseph Dietrich. He preceded her in death September 26, 1980. Survivors include a son, Norman Dietrich, of Rte 3 Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. david (Jovetta) Barkley of Sevierville, Tennessee, a sister, Mrs. edward (Margaret) Wurster of Celina; six grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Mrs. Dietrich operated the Dietrich Greenhouse in Rockford with her husband until his death. She was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with the Rev. Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery,Rockford, Ohio. Uncle "Jimmy" was a painter, I am not sure of his occupation, probably a farmer to make a living for his large family, I do remember when someone needed something painted he was kind enough to do it, in particular in my memory, He was quite old in 1933 and had the well known, in our family, a condition now called, "Essential Famial Hereditary Tremor. He came to our house to paint a dresser for my mom, as I watched his trembling hands it was plain to see to this 11 year old young lady, he would ruin our mirror as well as one of few treasured pieces of furniture. Jasper Dewey Carr, 71 of Rte 1 Willshire, died at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 1970 at Bluffton Clinic, Bluffton, Indiana, where he had been a patient for one week. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio. Hewas born September 2, 1898 in Mercer County, Ohio, a son of Samuel and Jessie Smalley Carr, and was married March 18, 1918 to Lillian Martz. Surviving are his wife; his father of Rte 1, Rockford; two sons, Chester and Calvin, both of Rockford; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Sarah) Eichar of Lakeside and Mrs. Mary Merriman of Decatur, Indiana; three brothers, David of Willshire, Kenneth of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Robert of Decatur, Indiana, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Began married life by farming for a short time before he began doing construction work. During ww II while he was away, she went to work at the Decatur G. E. and that lasted 51/2 years. 1947 bought a ditching machine and they both ran it until his retirement.
1965, lived through tornado that took all their buildings and everything they owned. He heard the noise of the wind above the TV and stepped out on the porch to look, calling her to come see too. She said it looked like a hugh sewer pipe coming, and they just barely made it down their basement steps and into the coalbin when it was 'passed' and they looked up to see stars and a big tree laying kati-cornered across and down in the basement.

Jesse J. Carr, 86, R.R.1, Willshire, died at the St. Marys Nursing Home, Sunday, december 31, 1950 of complications. He had been a resident of the home for four days. He was born October 19, 1864, in Mercer County, the son of the late Reuben and Huldah Shock Carr. He lived in Blackcreek Township and was occupied in farming. In 1895 he married the former Mary E. Pifer, who preceded him in death. He has lived the past ten years with his son Homer Carr, and his wife Leona, R.R. 1 Willshire. Surviving in additionto Mr. and Mrs. Homer carr are a sister, Mrs. Arsula Pifer, Knoxville, Tenn; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Vivian Carr Becher, R.R. 1, Rockford; four grandchildren; and four great-grand-
children. One son and one daughter preceded him in death. He was a member of east Bethel E. U. B. Church, where the srvices will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Argo Suddath officiating. Furial will be in the church cemetery. The body, cred for by Ketchams home, will be returned to the John Homer Carr residence, where friends may call at any time. Parents: Reuben R. CARR and Huldah Ann SHOCK.
