Loren (Polly) Carr, 93, Rte 2, rockford, Died at 11:45 p.m. Friday in March of 1976 at Totalcare Nursing Home, Celina, where he had been a resident since October 1974. Mr. Crr was born August 3, 1882, in Blackcreek Township, the son of William and Zerado (North) Carr. He married Zelma E. Burley December 24, 1909, and she preceded him in death November 12, 1974. Mrs. Carr had been a painter by trade. Surviving are three sons, Thurman and Victor, Ohio City; and Gene, Willshire; three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Viola) Brehm, Celina; Mrs. Philip (Rose) Ford, Washington Court House; and Mrs. Raymond (Katherine) Black, Geneva, Ind., a brothr Orva Carr, Portland, Indiana; 29 granchildren, 56 great-
grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Carr was preceded in death by one son. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Larry Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in East Bethel Cemetery, southwest of Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Parents: William M. Mrs. Lucy Purdy, 81, died at 6:0 p.m. Saturday February 10, 1962 in Lima Memorial Hospital after being a patient there since the day before. Mrs. Purdy had been seriously ill for three months, and had lived with her daughter in Lima since September. born January 12, 1881, she lived most ofher life in Van Wert County. Her parents were William and Zerado (North) Carr, and on November 11, 1901, she was married to Maynard O. Purdy, who died March 11, 1945. Mrs. Purdy was a member of the East Bethel United Brethren Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Surviving are two dughters, Mrs. Lola Fisher, Rte 3, Celina, and Mrs. Irene Paxson, Lima; two brothers, Loren Carr, Rte 2, Rockford, and Orva, Portland; two granchildren and one great-grandchild. A sister, Mrs. Floyd Vining, preceded Mrs. Purdy in death. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. today at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford. Rev. Hazel Carr Vining, daughter of the late Wiliam M. and Zarado North Carr was born April 19, 1895, near Willshire, Ohio,in Van Wert County, and departed this earthly life at Traverse City Hospital, after an extended illness of which everything possible in care and medical attention was given to her. Yeton Saturday, December 27, 1952, Hazel slipped away to be with her Savior in the home of the Blessed. She had reached the age of 57 years, 8 months, and 11 days. On May 10, 1916, she was united in marriage to Floyd Vining. About 17 years ago they moved from Mercer County to Buckley, Michigan, where they have resided. Hazel was a faithful member of Gospel Tabernacle at Buckley and will be missed by the many who knew her. She leaves to mourn her homegoiing, the husband Floyd, one sister, Mrs. Lucy Purdy, of Rockford, Ohio; two brothers, Loren carr, Rockford, Ohio; and Orva Carr, of Berne, Indiana along with a hose of relatives and friends. Services were held in Chattanooga M. E. Church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Forest Kuhn assisted by Rev. Argo Suddath and Rev. Boggs. Burial wa made in East Bethel Cemetery. Orval A. Carr, 89, of Portland, Indiana died Firday morning March 12, 1976 at the Portland Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer. Born February 26, 1888 at Willshire, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War I. His wife, the former Stella Hisey, died April 26, 1973. Surviving are two brothers-in-law, Thurman Hisey, Portland, Indiana; and Leo Scheffer of Rockford, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. OBITUARY:
Reuben R. Carr, was born in Allen County, Ohio, May 2, 1832. Departed this life June 16, 1909; aged 77 years, 1 month and 14 days. He was married to Huldah A. Shock, December 5, 1852. To this union were born six sons and two daughters, one daughter and three sons preceding him to the better land. He came to Mercer county about 1860 and bore the toils and hardships of a new country life. He was converted at Honey Run, now a part of Elida Circuit and with his wife united with the United Brethren Church. After moving to Mercer county, they became members at Center School House and later went with the Society to the new church at Centenary. They now hold their membership at Bethel United Brethren Church. He leaves an afflicted wife, three sons, one daughter, one brother, one sister, fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. He was a good husband and loving father and leaves a host of friends. His funeral at Bethel Church, conducted by the Pastor Rev. W. E. Strete, was very largely attended, which showed the esteem in which he was held byhis neighbors. The iinterment was in the cemetery near by.

Robert E. Carr, 65, 709 Meadowview drive, Celina, died at 3:43 am. September 30, 1992 in Community Hospital, Coldwater, of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Chattanooga, december 4, 1926, son of Charles Carr and Vivian (Gibbons Carr) Becker, and was married August 18, 1946, to D. Leola Minx, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Robert Jr., wheeling, W. Va., Rex and Gary, both of Celina; Charles, Owosso, Michigan; and Mark, Yukon, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Gilliland, Chattanooga. Mr. Carr was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II and the retired plant manager for Reynolds and Reynolds, Celina. He was also a member of St. Pauls' United Methodist Church of Celina. Srvices will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. H. Douglas Shriner officiating. Burial will be in Mercer memory Gardens, Celina. Surviving are three sons; David F. of Willshire, Kenneth of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Robert of Decatur, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Sarah Ellen) Eichar of Clearwater, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford, Ohio.
