Hon Elsie Montagu was recorded as a Suffolk Painter. Her daughter Shiela Conrad later recalled both her parents were 'extremely athletic' and her mother 'was reserve for England at hockey and she and Auntie Marnie belonged to one of the first hockey clubs...^18,19'
