      Her married name was Philbrook.¹ Sarah Kezia Wright was born in 1882 at New South Wales, Australia; and her birth was recorded at Lithgow District; her parents being Richard Franklin Wright and Drucilla/Drusilla Sarah Childs.^1,3,4,5,6 She married Thomas Philbrook, son of John Philbrook and Andrina Erikson, on 1 June 1912 at Holterman Street Methodist Church, North Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; and their marriage was recorded at St Leonards District.^7,8,9,10,11 Sarah Kezia Wright and Thomas Philbrook were an elector in 1913 and 1919 at Lilley, Queensland, Australia.¹² Sarah Kezia Wright and Thomas Philbrook were an elector in 1925, 1936, 1937 and 1943 at Wide Bay, Queensland, Australia.¹² Sarah Kezia Wright and Thomas Philbrook lived in 1949 at Bli Bli, Nambour, Queensland, Australia; where they appeared on the Electoral Roll; he was a farmer and she was doing home duties.¹³ Sarah Kezia Wright and Thomas Philbrook were reported in the Nambour Chronicle as recently celebrating their Golden Wedding. 'Twenty guests were entertained at an evening party at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs A Philbrook. Among the guests were Mrs D Page, one of the bridesmaids. Mr and Mrs T Philbrook were married in Sydney and have spent all their married life in the district, seven years at Yandina and 43 years at Bli Bil' on 5 June 1962.¹⁴ Sarah Kezia Wright died on 11 July 1971 at Queensland, Australia.^3,5,6 She was buried at Nambour Garden Lawn Cemetery, Nambour, Queensland, Australia.^3,15,16,17

     Francis James Westwood was born on 12 July 1897 at London, England; and his birth was recorded at Kensington registration office in the September quarter 1897.^2,3 He married Lily Pink, daughter of John Pink and Amelia Head, on 19 February 1921 at St James, Weybridge, Surrey, England; and their marriage was recorded at Chertsey record office in the March quarter 1921.^1,4 Francis James Westwood died on 18 May 1950 at 6 Brooklands Lane, Weybridge, Surrey, England, at age 52; and his death was recorded at Surrey North Western registration office in the June quarter 1950.^5,6

     Henry George Umpton Poynter was born on 15 April 1915; and his birth was recorded at Maidenhead record office in the June quarter 1915.^1,2 He was the son of William John Umpton Poynter and Georgina Caroline Simmonds.¹ Henry George Umpton Poynter died in 1967 at Berkshire, England; and his death was recorded at Maidenhead registration office in the December quarter 1967.³

      Albert Edward Pullen was also known as Alfred Edward. He was born on 31 January 1914 at Surrey, England; and his birth was recorded at Kingston record office in the March quarter 1914.^1,2 He was the son of Charles Henry Pullen and Jessie Pooley.¹ Albert Edward Pullen married Rose Hewlett on 25 July 1931 at Surrey, England; and their marriage was recorded at Croydon registration office in the September quarter 1931.³ Albert Edward Pullen died in May 1998 at London, England, at age 84; and his death was recorded at Lewisham registration office in May 1998.²

     Leslie Stanley Pullen was born on 9 June 1918 at London, England; and his birth was recorded at Wandsworth record office in the June quarter 1918.¹ He was the son of Charles Henry Pullen and Jessie Pooley.¹ Leslie Stanley Pullen married Lilian Gay Ellis on 27 June 1942 at Surrey, England; and their marriage was recorded at Surrey N E record ofifce in the June quarter 1942.^3,4 Leslie Stanley Pullen died on 11 March 1984 at London, England, at age 65; and his death was recorded at Wandsworth registration office in the September quarter 1919.^4,5

     Gordon Levason Curlewis was born on 16 March 1885 at Bell, Victoria, Australia.^3,4,5 He was the son of George Campbell Curlewis and Lilla May George.¹ Gordon Levason Curlewis was educated at Public School and he was a British Subject.⁶ He was an elector and appeared on the Australian Electoral Roll with his parents as a clerk in 1910 at 58 Ord Street, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia.⁷ He married Margaret Rose Johnston on 22 October 1913 at Bunbury, Western Australia, Australia; and their marriage was recorded at Wellington Registration district.^8,9,10 Gordon Levason Curlewis was a Business Salesman of Black Boy Hill Camp, Western Australia before 9 May 1915.⁴ He died on 9 May 1915 at age 30 and he was one of The Curlewis brothers – members of the 12th and 16th Battalions AIF at Anzac, Gallipoli during the Great War:

'In 1914, four sons of George and Lilla Curlewis of Cottesloe Beach, Western Australia, went to war. Corporal George Curlewis, Lance Corporal Selwyn Curlewis and Captain Gordon Curlewis and all joined the 16th Battalion in October of that year. The fourth brother, Corporal Arthur Curlewis, joined the 12th Battalion. All four brothers landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.

'Selwyn Curlewis was killed at Quinn’s Post on the night of 2 May. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial. Captain Gordon Curlewis was killed, also at Quinn’s Post, on 9 May and was buried at Beach Cemetery. In August, Arthur Curlewis was wounded at Lone Pine and evacuated to Egypt, where he died on 15 August 1915. He was buried in the Chatby Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt. George Curlewis returned to Australia in November 1915.

'The four brothers are commemorated on the honour board at the Brookton Lesser Hall, Brookton, Western Australia. Trees were also planted to the memory of the three brothers who died, in King’s Park, Perth.'

'The eight month campaign in Gallipoli was fought by Commonwealth and French forces in an attempt to force Turkey out of the war, to relieve the deadlock of the Western Front in France and Belgium, and to open a supply route to Russia through the Dardanelles and the Black Sea. The Allies landed on the peninsula on 25-26 April 1915; the 29th Division at Cape Helles in the south and the Australian and New Zealand Corps north of Gaba Tepe on the west coast, an area soon known as Anzac. Beach Cemetery was used from the day of the landing at Anzac, almost until the evacuation. There are 391 Commonwealth servicemen of the First World War buried or commemorated in the cemetery. Special memorials commemorate 11 casualties believed to be buried among them. 22 of the burials are unidentified.^{1,11,12,6,13,9,14,15,16}'

He was the subject of an obituary in The Argos (Melbourne, Victoria) as follows: 'CURLEWIS.-On the 25th May (from wounds received at the Dardanelles), Lieut. G. L. Curlewis, 16th. Batt., the beloved husband of Margaret Curlewis, and eldest son of G. C. Curlewis, of East Brookton, W. A. (formerly of Queenscliff, Victoria), aged 30 years.' on 2 June 1915.¹⁷ His estate was probated; and the 1916 Probate files are now in the State Records Office of Western Australia.¹⁸
