He was described in his father's obituary in The Times of 24 April 1959 as a 'Scientific Counsellor at the British Embasy, Paris'.24

He was reported in The Times of 24 February 1969 with an action photograph of himself clearing out a pond in front of his house, with his wife and three children standing by, captioned 'Dr Alcon Copisarow, who will soon be wrestling with the complexities of the Bank of England yesterday tackled much less involved problems at his home in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He is the head of the team McKinsey, the American management consultants, are sending to Threadneedle Street soon to study the "Old Lady's" operations.25'

He appeared on a record of Britain, Knights Of The Realm & Commonwealth Index in 1988.26 He lived on 16 May 1989 at Launceston Place, London, England.27 He appeared in an article in The Illustrated London News headed 'Athenaeum Ballot'. As 'present chairman [he] recalled that at the time of the ballot in 1892 Gladstone had just come to office for the forth and last time...' Along with comments 'inviting members to look ahead at the next 100 years...' included was a drawing of members awaiting the result of the 1892 ballot and a photograph of members on the staircase before the centenary dinner on 2 December 1992.28 He was a member and trustee of the Athenaeum Club and wrote one of a collection of essays published in 2001 by members of the London club:- 'Armchair Athenians: Essays from Athenaeum Life. Alcon Copisarow, Michael Howard, Roy Jenkins,Yehudi Menhuin, George Steiner et al.29' He listed by UK Companies House as Director between 2002 and 2014 at London, England.30 He had a letter printed in answer to previous correspondence in The Times of 7 October 2004 titled 'Why is the Red Sea "red" and the Black Sea "black"?. He wrote that '...linguistic evolution may have changed to "red" the original term "end"...31

He was mentioned in an article headed New award named after IET Fellow: 'Sir Alcon Copisarow recognised by international institution. 'The newly established 'Sir Alcon Copisarow Medal' is to be awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to international cooperation in engineering or science. The sterling silver medal is due to be presented for the first time by the British section of the Ingenieurs et Scientifiques de France (IESF) in October 2015 at a ceremony in London. The award is aimed at professionally qualified engineers or scientists and the IESF are currently accepting nominations. To propose a name for this new award, visit the British Section of the IESF website. Nominations are open until 27 March. Sir Alcon is a longstanding IET Fellow and he served as Patron of Ingenieurs et Scientifiques de France British Section between 1992 and 2013.

'Encouraging cooperation has been an important theme throughout Sir Alcon's working life. During his distinguished career he championed the importance of collaborative business approaches while working as a scientific counsellor at the British embassy in Paris, and also as the director of McKinsey & Company. Sir Alcon has also chaired prestigious charitable bodies such as the Prince’s Youth Business Trust and the Eden Project, where he helped engineers and technicians work with others to help sustain the environment. His memoir, Unplanned Journey From Moss Side to Eden, was recently published by Jeremy Mills Publishing Ltd.' on 4 February 2015.38,39 He died on 2 August 2017 at London, England, at age 97.40,41,42 He was the subject of an obituary among others in The JC on 3 August 2017, The Telegraph on 18 August 2017,The Times of 28 September 2017.40,43,44,41
