Sir Alexander Francis Morley K.C.M.G., C.B.E. was Ambassador to Hungary and his appointment appeared in The London Gazette published on the 29 October 1965 as follows: 'Sir Alexander Francis Morley, K.C.M.G., C.B.E., to be Her Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at Budapest (22 August 1965).19,20,21'

He was the author of The Harrap Opera Guide published in 1970 containing: '...Descriptions of 88 operas with cast and plots from Aida to Wozzeck...22,23'
