     Samuel Levy was born on 18 July 1884 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England; and his birth was registered in the September quarter 1884 at Liverpool Registration district.2,1,3 He was the son of Abraham Joseph Levy (c1846-1915) and Emma Nelson (1847-1927). Their marriage was recorded at Liverpool Registration district in the June quarter 1871.2,4,5,6,7 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 12, 14, 16 St Anne Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Son, age 6, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and he was a Scholar.2 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 12 St Anne Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Son, age 16, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and he worked as a 'Picture (Art) Shop Assistant.8' He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 25 Erskine Street, West Derby, Lancashire, England, as Son, age 25, single, birthplace Liverpool, and he was a Shop Manager.9 He married Rose Rubens Gottschalk, daughter of Adolph Gottschalk and Annie Drielsma, on 24 April 1912 at Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation, Liverpool, Lancashire, England; and their marriage was registered at Toxteth Park Registration district in the September quarter 1912.10,11,12,13 Samuel Levy joined the Army Service Corps (Remounts Service) during The Great War and his British Army Service Record gives his residence as 7 Warwick Drive, Wallasey on 23 July 1918.12 He was executor for his Mother and The 1927 National Probate Calendar reads: 'Levy Emma of 80 Manchester-road Southport Lancashire widow died 12 June 1927 Probate (save and except settled land) Liverpool 20 September to Samuel Levy picture frame maker.14' He lived on 29 September 1939 at 30 Ullet Road, Liverpool, Lancashire, England; where he was on the 1939 Register when he was Managing Director of a Saw Mills, Glass Works, Mirrors etc.3 He died on 7 July 1965 at Lancashire, England, at age 80; and his death was recorded at Liverpool Registration district in the September quarter 1965.15 His estate was probated on 1 October 1965; at Liverpool Probate Registry, to 'Joseph Arnold Levy and Maurice Levy company director'. He was of 78 Promenade, Southport, Liverpool.16
