Although crossed through, it is clearly legible that in 39 years of marriage she had ten children born alive, nine of whom were still living. On the night of the census her husband was absent, but two sons, two daugthters, a daughter-in-law (Minni Cormack), a grandson (Harry Ernest Saunders) and a granddaughter completed the household. Grandaughter Constance Ethel Saunders (transcribed Ancient Ethel Saunders, and possibly written as Constant? Ethel Saunders), was age 6, birthplace Battlesbridge, Essex, and her birth was recorded at Chelmsford Registration district in the December quarter 1904, but whose child she was is unclear.14,15 She died in 1939 at Essex, England; and her death at age 90 was recorded at Chelmsford Registration district in the June quarter 1939.16
