     Percy Richard Powell was born on 7 January 1885 at Victoria Docks, Canning Town, Essex, England; and his birth was recorded at West Ham Registration district in the March quarter 1885.1,2,3 He was the son of Alfred Richard Powell and Emily Alice Guttridge.1 Percy Richard Powell was baptized on 31 October 1886 at St Luke, Victoria Docks, Essex, England.3 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 44 Charlotte Street, West Ham, Essex, England, as Grandson, age 6, birthplace Victoria Docks, Essex, and he was a Scholar.1 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 17 Alice Street, Canning Town, Essex, England, as Nephew of Edward Guttridge and his wife Emily, age 16, birthplace West Ham, Essex, and he worked as an Engineer's Fitter.4 He married May Osborne on 25 February 1906 at Canning Town, Essex, England; and their marriage was recorded as Richard Percy Powell and May Osborne at West Ham Registration district in the March quarter 1906. She was age 19, daughter of William Osborne. He was age 21, son of Frederick Powell.5,6 Percy Richard Powell appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 23 Alnwick Road, Canning Town, Essex, England, as Head, married, age 26, birthplace West Ham, Essex, and he was a General Engineer. His wife and three children completed the household.7 He died before 26 January 1940 at Essex, England; and his death was recorded at Ilford Registration district in the March quarter 1940.8,9 He was buried on 26 January 1940 at West Ham Cemetery, Forest Gate, Essex, England.9
