She was a spinster, age 27, of Thomas Street, daughter of 'John Sandison (decd), Iron Fence Maker.⁶ Rachel Jane Sandison appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 24 Retreat Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, as Head, widowed, age 43, birthplace Edinburgh, Scotland, and she was a Cabinet Lock Maker, working on her own account at home.
