His parents: Pierce Ockenden, Manager of a wholesale Chemist and Druggust and Grace H Ockenden, plus four siblings and a domestic servant completed the household.4 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 38 & 40 High Street, Romford, Essex, England, as Son, age 13, birthplace Romford, Essex. His parents: Pierce Ockenden, Licensed Victaller (Pub Barman) and Grace Ockenden, plus his grandmother, seven siblings, a barmaid and two domestic servants completed the household.5

He emigrated between 1908 and 1909 from England; to Canada.2,6 He appeared on the census of 1916 at 24, Battle River, Alberta, Canada, as male, single, age 28, year of immigration 1909.
