     Flight Lieunant John Conyers Lowe was born in 1919 at Lincolnshire, England; and his birth was recorded at Stamford Registration district in the September quarter 1919.1 He was the son of Charles Conyers Lowe and Marjorie Winifred Jones.1 Flight Lieunant John Conyers Lowe appeared on the census of 19 June 1921 at Stamford Baron St Martin's Without, Lincolnshire, England, as born at Northamptonshire, England, in 1919.3

He served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War in 205th Squadron, Royal Air Force number 33498. On 9 October 1940 he was recorded on a printed list of Officers Serving on The Active List of the RAF, General Duties Branch- Flying Officers as 'Lowe, John Conyers (w)' and in The London Gazette confirmed as a Pilot Officer.2,4,5

He died on 11 June 1943 at Singapore, Malaysia; with a crew of 13 other Servicemen, when his aircraft, Catalina Ib FP255, ditched in the Indian Ocean and was lost without trace during a Patrol. Based at Koggala, Ceylon, he was from Stamford, Lincolnshire.2,6,7,8,9 He was buried at Singapore Memorial, Kranji, North West, Singapore, Malaysia; or rather commemorated on Column 423, as his final resting place is unknown and he was listed as 'Age 23. Son of Charles Conyers Lowe and Marjorie Winifred Lowe, of Stamford, Lincolnshire...2,10,11' He was commemorated by way of the 205 Squadron's Memorial of a church font cover. This was originally at St Georges Church, RAF Changi, Singapore, and later presented, as RAF Costal Command Station was at RAF St Eval, and moved into position at St Eval Church, St Eval, Cornwall, England.12,13,14
