Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
Richmond, British Columbia, population 180,000, a city in Metro Vancouver, occupies several islands directly south of Vancouver in the mouth of the Frazer River. At the turn of the twentieth century Steveston, a tiny village at the southwest tip of Richmond's largest island, was the busiest fishing port in the world. Today, much of the city is preserved as farmland. Richmond is the home of Vancouver International Airport.
