Campbellford, Ontario, Canada

Campbellford, Ontario, population 3800, is a small town in Northumberland County, midway between Toronto and Ottawa. The first homesteaders, many of whom were very wealthy and built lovely Victorian homes, most of which are still standing, arrived in 1834. Campbellford's main claim to fame is the 27 foot high Toonie Monument - a replica of Canada's $2 coin, (known as the "toonie") which was designed by the local wildlife artist, Brent Townsend.
