Generation No. 2

2.  FRANCOIS II2 BAUDOIN (FRANCOIS I1) was born in Rouen, France1, and died Aft. April 17822.  He married (1) MARIE JEANNE CARELLE.  She died Bef. January 17693.  He married (2) CATHERINE PETRIMICHE January 20, 17693, daughter of PIERRE PETRIMICHE and CATHERINE LECLER.

Notes for FRANCOIS II BAUDOIN:

Conrad lists the mother of Francois BAUDOIN III as Catherine PETRIMICHE.  But Francois BAUDOIN II did not marry Catherine until 1769, according to the marriage contract recorded on Jan 20, 1769.  Francois was from Rouen, France, and Catherine was born in Louisiana.

When Francois II married Catherine, he was the widower of Marie Jeanne CARELLE, and she was the widow of Manuel LAFLEUR.  I have found nothing about either of these deceased spouses in the records.  No mention of children is made in the marriage contract, but the timing is such that this cannot be Francois BAUDOIN III, since Marianne TOUPS died about Oct. 1770.

Based on this analysis, I have made Marie Jeanne CARELLE the mother of Francois III BAUDOIN.

Children of FRANCOIS BAUDOIN and MARIE CARELLE are:

3.                i.    FRANCOIS III3 BAUDOIN, b. 1741, Santo Domingo; d. November 25, 1808.

4.               ii.    GENEVIEVE BAUDOIN, b. Abt. 1756.

Generation No. 3

3.  FRANCOIS III3 BAUDOIN (FRANCOIS II2, FRANCOIS I1) was born 1741 in Santo Domingo4, and died November 25, 18085.  He married MARIANNE TOUPS, daughter of FREDERIC TOUPS and BARBE STRIMPFEL.  She was born Abt. September 17476,7, and died Bef. November 17958.

Notes for FRANCOIS III BAUDOIN:

I have searched in vain for any record showing that Nicolas and Francois BAUDOIN were related.  I have found nothing concrete, but I believe they may have been, particularly given their ties to the TOUPS family.

Was the 11 year old daughter listed with Francois BAUDOIN and his wife in the 1766 census actually Genevieve BAUDOIN, sister of Francois?  Surely Marianne TOUPS was too young to be Genevieve's mother, and, although Francois was old enough to have been the father of Genevieve (he would have been about 15), I think she was his sister.

Marriage Notes for GENEVIEVE BAUDOIN and ANDRE-JEAN EDELMAYER:

Genevieve's birth date from the 1777 census is about 1756.  Andre EDELMEYER is married in the 1770 census of the German Coast (Some Late Eighteenth Century Louisianians, p. 406).  Charlotte EDELMEYER is 6 years old at the 1777 census, indicating a marriage year of about 1770 for Genevieve and Andre, when Genevieve would have been about 14.
