THE MAHADY MILLENIUM MEMORIAL PRAYER. ------------------------------------- by Matt Mahady

M-any's the time,whilst just here at my desk,
A- one thought to my mind did appear,
H-ow I'd find my own Family,in Ireland,so rare,
A-bout when,about who,about where ???.
D-ays and nights I did spend for the answer to find,
Y-et the outcome seemed so far away.

M-y research had it's lows and a few lucky highs,
I-t would seem I was,oh,so alone,
L-ike a ghost in the night,with no shadow to cast,
L-ike a rolling stone gathering no moss,
E-xcept for that day,when technology found,
N-ew horizons for me to explore.
I-n the form of Emails,researchers galore,
U-nderstanding the NET,brought research to my door.
M-y surprise at then finding,not less than two score,
M-uch appreciated Members,also seeking folk-lore.
E-ach as anxious as I was,to find "WHO THEY WERE",
M-uch,much,more than that,was the dream we all share,
O-f each finding our "ROOTS",and each Branch of our Tree
R-est assured that we will,this we all must agree,
I-t will happen for sure,not today,but yes soon,
A-s I hope that our children,now shown the way,
L-ink our Families together,my prayers answered that day.
