    Hugh was heir to his brother John. He paid a fine of four marks for release from knighthood at the coronation of Queen Mary. Hugh is buried in the church at St. Michael Penkivel: "Hugh Boscawen, of Tregothnan, Esq., aged 80. Died 24th Aug. Anno 1559." Phillippa is also buried there: "Philip, Daughter & coheire of Nicholas Carminow, Esq. Died."
