Albert L. Barr, the youngest of the family, was born October 31, 1861.  He married Miss Etta White November 7, 1894, and lives on a farm near his wife's father.  He feeds several car load of cattle and hogs every year, and ships them to Chicago.  He is doing well at it.  They have two children living.

      The eldest was born October 14, 1895, and died October 15, 1895.

      Zola Gladys Barr was born January 13, 1897.

      Albert Marion Barr was born October 1, 1898.

Mr. Albert Barr has been tax collector and assessor for several years, and prominent in the community.
 

Albert Leach Barr was born in Lee County, Iowa, the last of eight children born to Gabriel Barr and Lilly Ann Scott.

Ida Etta White was probably born in Hancock Township, Hancock County, Illinois.  She was the daughter of William Marion White and Elnora Siepel.

Albert and Ida's children were:

i. Infant Barr, born October 14, 1895, died October 15, 1895.  Burial at Yetter Cemetery.
 
ii. Zola Gladys Barr, born January 13, 1897, died July 23, 1989, at Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois, interment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester, McDonough County, Illinois.  She married Kerus J. Huston at Carthage, Illinois, on February 15, 1915.  Kerus was the son of Edward W. Huston and Estella J. Hunt.  Kerus died December 1, 1962.

Mrs. A. L. Barr of the south country died at her home March 28 following a decline in health of several months.  She is survived by her husband, sons Albert and Lyle, daughters, Mrs. Eva Wilson of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Alleyne Bunch of Blandinsville and Mrs. Zola Huston of Ft. Green.  She was a sister of Orville White and Mrs. Hattie Hocker of Joetta and Mrs. Clara Smith formerly of Macomb but now a resident of Indiana.


Albert Leach Barr, 87, died at his home near Webster Monday morning from a cerebral hemorrhage.  He had been seriously ill since Saturday.

He was born Oct. 31, 1861 in Lee county, Iowa, the son of Gabriel Barr and Lillie Scott.  He came to Illinois at the age of two and had lived in Hancock county since that time.  He was married to Ida White who died March 28, 1939.  Barr was a farmer and a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge.  Surviving are five children: Mrs. Kerus Huston of Blandinsville, Albert of Carthage, Mrs. Elmer Wilson of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Glenn Bunch of Good Hope, and Lyle Barr of Carthage. Funeral at Majorville Church and burial at Majorville Cemetery.
