Obituary.

Died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ebret, Sept. 25, 1900 Ella Pearl Ebert, of typhoid fever.  It was a great shock to the people of our community to know that Ella was gone. All that loving and skilled care could accomplish was done, but in vain.  The young life was done with earth and earthly things.

Ella was born Jan. 5, 1883.  At the age of nine years she lost her mother but when a step mother took her place Ella received the tenderest care.  She herself became an adept at housekeeping at an early age.  In August, 1899 she went to the alter in Friendship church, signifying by that act that she wished to follow her Redeemer.  The following October she united with the M. E. church in Fountain Green on probation and in April of this year was received into full connection.

The church has lost one of her most faithfull and loyal members.  As president of the Epworth League she was ready to do what she could for the advancement of God's kingdom.  In the Sunday school she has a class of little girls whom she guided by practice and precept to Christ.  She was ever ready in the prayer meeting to do her Master's will.  In home as well as in church she will be missed.

Beside father and step mother she leaves two brothers, Guy and Gabriel and one sister, Mae, beside three half sisters, Mrs. Lark Messingale, of Galesburg and Mesdames Reuben Long and David Miller of Webster.

The funeral was held from the M. E. church, Thursday Sept. 27 at 1:30 p. m.  Although a stormy day the church was crowded with friends from far and near to pay their last tribute to one so loved. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Bloomer, assisted by Rev. Mr. Love and Dr. Pugh. The casket was born by six of her boy school mates while six girl friends acted as honorary pall bearers. There was a profusion of rich and lovely flowers.

After a touching service and the rendering of several choice selections by the choir the body was taken for enterment to Majorvill Cemetry.
