William Ford, Macomb Farm Worker, Dies

William F. Ford, 83, of Macomb died at 3:00 a.m. today at the St. Francis Hospital after being under treatment there for a few days for uremic poisoning.  He had been ill for about two months. He had made his home for about the last year and a half with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wright of 401 West Wheeler St., Macomb.  He was a farm hand most of his life on farms in the Fountain Green and Majorville communities.  He was never married.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Majorville church with the Rev. P. F. Roberts of Macomb officiating[.]  Burial will be in the Majorville Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Clugston Funeral Home in Macomb prior to the services. Ford is survived by a brother, George Ford, who lives in Kansas, and a sister, Esther Ament [sic], who lives at Grand Island, Neb.  A brother, Enoc, a sister, Laura, and another sister preceded him in death.

William F. Ford was the son of Joshua G. Ford and his first wife, Mary Jane (maiden name undetermined), and was probably born in Hancock County, Illinois.

William's obituary did not give a clear accounting of his brothers and sisters.  There were at least six children born to Joshua and Mary Jane: Anna M., Ellen or Ella, Ara (a sister, middle initial C or E), George B., Laura E. and William.

Joshua and his second wife, Lydia E. Tyler of Tennessee, had at least two children: Enoch D. and Esther B.

Joshua's third wife was Louisa J. Evans from Iowa; she was about 40 years younger than Joshua.

William was the brother of Anna M. Ford, and half-brother of Esther B. Ford.
