Alice J., daughter of Jesse W. Taylor & Mary Ann Lovette, was born February 23, 1850, in Hancock County, Illinois, in the area that would shortly be named Fountain Green Township.
Lewis H. Miller was born in Iowa about 1844. On April 14, 1870, Lewis and Alice were married, and a few months later they were living in Montrose, Lee County, Iowa. They were both reported as teachers in the census of that year. Alice died on April 13, 1874, and was buried at Webster Cemetery in Fountain Green Township. Efforts to locate Lewis after 1880 have been unsuccessful.
Not quite three years after Alice's death, Jesse and Mary Ann would bury their youngest daughter at Webster Cemetery. Eunice was barely 21. She was born October 2, 1855, probably in Fountain Green Township, died December 1, 1876. |
