Robert Wesley Nelson, son of Emily Lincoln and Benjamin F. Nelson, was born April 6, 1879, in Illinois, perhaps in Hancock Township, Hancock County. He died May 20, 1948, in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, and was buried at Webster Cemetery.
Sarah Ellen "Sadie" Gipe, daughter of Cyrus Gipe and Mary Margaret Hyde, was born June 28, 1883, in Fulton County, Illinois.
Robert and Sadie were married around 1901. They lived for a number years in Hancock County. We have not determined Robert's whereabouts in 1930. Sadie may have been in Wichita, Kansas; her elder sister, Anna, had lived in Wichita for a number of years. Sadie later married John L. Hedde. She died April 3, 1962, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois. We can reasonably presume the Nelson children were all born in or near Hancock County. They were:
