October 15, 1884, page 5 Killed by the Cars. C. C. Robinson, residing six miles east of this city, near Webster, went to Quincy one day last week to look after some matter connected with a pension, as stated. On Thursday morning his body was found terribly mangled on or near the C. B. & Q. railway track near Loraine. It is reported that he started to come home on the Wednesday evening train, and was on the train for a part of the distance. It is supposed he got off the train at Loraine, and in attempting to get on while the train was moving was drawn beneath the wheels and killed. The body was brought to this city Thursday evening, and taken home the same night. The funeral took place the following day. The deceased left a wife and nine children, -- all sons. |
