This is a pattern I created while trying to
make headbands for my granddaughters.
I had tried previously, and I think I made
it too hard. This one is simple single crochet,
and it works wonderfully. The picture shows
one made with 2 strands of chenille and an
H hook.
Simply crochet single stitches around the
purchased stretch cloth covered headband
(round or flat) then join with a slip stitch,
chain 1 or 2 (depending on the width of
your purchased headband) and go to
the opposite side of the headband and
single stitch around the headband
again, between your previous stitches.
Don't make the first half too tight or you
won't get the 2nd round on. But join the
second round and finish off. It's that
simple. And with this method of covering
the purchased headband, I have yet to
find a case where the headband shows
between the stitches, even when I try them
on myself, and I have a large-size head.
You can use whatever yarn you wish, and
could probably add beads or such if you'd
like too. It's that simple! ENJOY!
